A meticulously created art deco B&B with quirky themed rooms, including the delightful Amy Johnson room filled with aviation memorabilia. the david bowie room was charming, but not having an ensuite was a major oversight, oh, and my bed was nearly uncomfortably firm. to top it off, i expected at least, a complimentary gesture for my troubles but apparently that’s too much to ask for in this establishment. i woudl ve been content to give a good review, but just couldn’t.

Decor in the David Bowie room captured our attention thoroughly. No ensuite bathroom made visits inconvenient during the night.

missingWrote a review on Oct 18
Despite the charming decor, the lack of an ensuite bathroom in the David Bowie room was a hassle, requiring a trek down the landing to access it. The firmness of the bed made it uncomfortable for some, too. the requirement to pre-book breakfast times felt a bit rigid, limiting flexibility. A 10-15 minute walk to the village center could be a drag for those wanting a quick bite or bite of local culture, and the limited breakfast menu choices didn't help matters. Lastly, while the garden is clearly being worked on, it currently offers little relaxation space directly accessible from the rooms, which could leave you wanting more outdoor options to take in the surroundings. some minor quirks detracted from the otherwise vibrant experience.

The small double room was cozy, but lacking private outdoor space limited relaxation options. Breakfasts featured delightful Uonuma-grown rice, beautifully presented, and the terrace for dining provided a lovely atmosphere. the absence of a garden accessible from the rooms and the layout of the shared facilities could be inconvenient for some guests, detracting slightly from the overall experience.
